Winning & Mah Jongg

Verifying the Winning Hand

After a Mah Jongg call, the other players check the winning hand against the card before the round is considered officially over.

This step catches mistakes before scores are settled. If the hand doesn't actually match the card, it's ruled a False Mah Jongg instead.

Example

Opponents commonly ask to see the full hand laid out on the rack, tile by tile, matched against the exact line on the card being claimed.
