Fair Play

The Muggins Rule

Any player who spots a mistake — a False Mah Jongg, an illegal exposure, or a missed call — can speak up under the Muggins rule to have it corrected.

Muggins keeps the whole table honest by giving every player, not just the ones directly affected, the right to flag an error. It's called out loud, in the moment, rather than after the hand is scored.

Example

If a player accidentally exposes a set that breaks their hand's Concealed requirement, another player can call "Muggins" to have that ruling stand for scoring.
