Priority When More Than One Player Calls
A call for Mah Jongg always outranks a call for an ordinary Pung or Kong on the same tile — beyond that, priority conventions vary by group.
Most tables give priority to whichever call was made first or loudest; some formal settings default to whichever player sits closest in turn order. It's worth agreeing on this with a new group before play.
Example
If one player calls "Pung" and another simultaneously calls "Mah Jongg" on the same discard, the Mah Jongg call takes the tile.
