The Charleston

The Courtesy Pass

After the Charleston ends, players may optionally trade a small number of tiles one more time — but only if both sides agree.

Unlike the Charleston, a Courtesy Pass is a private, optional arrangement between two players and either one can decline without affecting anyone else at the table.

Example

A player one tile away from a great hand might ask a neighbor, "Courtesy?" — and only trade tiles if the neighbor agrees.
